Name Regiment Additional information - if  known
John Bates KOYLI John William Bates was born in Morley and enlisted into the KOYLI in Pontefract and beca,e Pte., 8681. He was KIA on 26 October 1914 and is remembered on Le Touret Memorial
Roland Marsden RM Roland was the son of William and Ann Marsden of 15 Brunswick Place, Clough St., Morley.  He served as Pte., PO/928(S) and died on 13 November 1916 aged 21.  He is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing.
Horace Knowles RGA Possibly, the son of Mrs Hannah Knowles of 59 Great Northern St., Morley who enlisted in Leeds and became Gunner 307586 and was Killed in Action on 9 August 1918 aged 28 and rests in Heath Cemetery, Harbonnieres, France.  
Fred Carpenter KOYLI Fred Carpenter was the son of William and Annie of Lineside Cottage, East Ardsley. He enlisted in Morley into the West Yorkshire Regt., as 23342.  He later transferred into the MGC after its formation in 1916.  He died of wounds on 30 August 1916 and is remembered at St Sever Cemetery, Rouen
Herbert W Smith RFA Herbert enlisted in Morley, where he joined the RFA as 129152.  He died of wounds on 28 April 1918 and is remembered at Lapugnoy Military Cemetery.
